 Something bizarre is happening in Guigang, a minor fishing town, where the fishermen go out to fish but very few of them return, except for one. Adding to the mystery is a young woman who appears from nowhere and decides to make the town her home.

The main attraction here is Shaw Brothers legend Ti Lung, starring as Mr.Gao. He is the only one who catches fish and never runs into any trouble, while his fellow fishermen are disappearing in the ocean and never return. In fact, at the start of the movie, he comes home after catching three sought after giant fish making him rich and renowned again.

Gao has a son who's not interested in his business and his best friend is Zihao, a loner whose mother left him when he was a child and his fisherman father is also a victim of the sea. One day, while racing through the village on his motorbike, he nearly runs over Xiao Yi, a young, unconscious woman lying on the road. He takes her to the hospital and since there is nothing wrong with her, she is discharged. Since she's a stranger in town and has no home to go to, he offers to provide her with accommodation.

As it turns out, Xiao Yi seems to be liked by everyone in this small seaside town and before long, they even hold a ceremony to accept her as a permanent resident. Soon, another male stranger appears and he seems to have a lot to do with her and Mr. Gao. They only meet in secret and something mysterious is definitely brewing between them.
